McQueen A/W 2011

Posted on June 9, 2011

When Lee McQueen died in 2010 the head designer torch was handed to the genius that is Sarah Burton. Burton’s first collection for the Fashion House was a success and showcased some of the brands world-famous attention to detail – but the Ready-to-wear runway for AW ’11 was absolutely the best collection I’ve seen in a long time, from any designer. It just proves to the die-hard McQueen fans of the world that Burton can well and truly be trusted. The Alexander McQueen Autumn Winter 2011 show was seen during the tension and anxiety from the fashion world over who would be designing Miss. Middleton’s wedding dress – and this was the show that seemed to answer everyone’s debate. Zips, feathers, fur, silk and tweed all in one go – if anyone can pull that off its this lady. Whats more she’s even managed to stay true to the McQueen legacy. Below are some of my favourite pieces.
