I used to think that people were just trying to make a fool of the most famous Lady in the world, or that, by some strange coincidence the same creative ideas were being thought up by many. But this is  just getting silly now! Lady Gaga, acclaimed for her creative ‘genius’ and ‘original’ style has been up against it recently with copyright claims forcing the singers YouTube account to be closed and hair styles being duplicated but now something’s occurred that she just can’t deny. Highly regarded performer Bette Midler has taken to her Twitter account to express her…erm…annoyance at Lady Gaga for stealing her ‘Singing Mermaid In A Wheelchair’ concept. Midler performed as a mermaid strapped into a wheelchair in the 1980’s with a bright coloured tail and cheerful grin. During a concert in Sydney, Gaga rolled out in a black ensemble with a dark tail and…you guessed it…a wheelchair. Such is the appearance of her new alter ego Mermaid Yuyi. This has caused uproar from the disabled community with Roman Reed, a supporter for research on the spinal cord, tweeting his opinion:

“Dear @ladygaga how about using your celebrity status 2 try 2 get us out of wheelchairs. Instead of cruising one. Cool?!”

Midler, however, was slightly less polite:

Deary me, either you can’t have any ideas these days without people thinking they had them first…or all of the ideas in the world have run out? Let’s hope Gaga hasn’t had a creative block.
